Don Heit

A West Oakland native, Don Heit was born and raised in the streets of The Bay. As a child he was captivated by the smooth and soulful music of artists such as Isaac Hayes, James Brown, and Bootsy Collins. Despite the popularity of the "hyphy-movement", Don Heit has yet to conform to the expected mold. Inspired by great music producers such as DJ Quik, Mr. Porter, Dr. Dre, SweetBack, and Prince, he describes his music as "more of an old school west coast feel". He does not compromise the the sound of his music for popularity among trends. As Don grew older, his appreciation for music has become stronger as his hobby has matured into a true passion. His undeniable talent has earned him recognition in the independent rap world but more importantly, his original beats inspire a new generation of artist to create music for their soul rather than their wallets.
