Open Labs Kicks It With Maroon 5 On American Idol

May 17, 2007 —

HOLLYWOOD, CA – Open Labs, Inc performed live with the Grammy-winning pop band Maroon 5 on American Idol Wednesday night.

Jesse Carmichael (keyboardist for Maroon 5) said, “We would not be able to tour without my MiKo keyboards. They provide virtually all the sounds we use.”

The Open Labs’ MiKo is the first portable digital music, video, and animation system that provides the power of a fully loaded Windows XP(TM)-based computer, a world-class synthesizer, a video mixer/recorder, and a broadband Internet hub in an affordable unit.

The group performed their song “Makes Me Wonder,” which recently scored No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, soaring 63 places with the assistance of digital sales (243,500 downloads). This is the largest jump to the top in the 49-year existence of the chart. Previously, the record was held by former American Idol winner, Kelly Clarkson, who had the largest jump to No. 1 with her swan song, “A Moment Like This” in October 2002.
