Nu-Clear
Dallas, TX based Nu-Clear is a melting pot of musical styles with color, energy, and a vibe that is different from anything you've ever heard before. In a saturated music industry, the band brings a sound that's clearly unique and refreshing to the ear.
"Heavy on the rock edge with some funky cream on top and a sprinkle of soul all placed on a mountain of hip hop beats with a shot of some techno for flava!" shouted one excited fan getting an autograph from Nu-Clear after a festival show. That's why Nu-Clear has coined their sound as "FunkyTechnoHipRock-Soul."
Music has always been an important force in the life of "Nu" J DuMaine (keys/lead vocals). As a child growing up in Louisiana playing church music to performing concerts with stars like Roger and Zapp, the SOS band, Cameo, and other hot funk stars, Nu never let music leave his soul. He currently produces with Kanye West singer, Tony Williams.
"Clear" Marie Collier (vocals) grew up in Dallas and spent most of her child life as a church choir soloist. She evolved into writing inspirational music, neo-soul, then rock. R&B has always been her love.
"This is the big component she brings to the mix," says Nu. "All of the members are very talented writers and producers. Its this melting pot of musical styles that makes this music come alive with color, energy and vibe," according to Nu and Clear.
"Songwriting is the main focus of the group," says Andrew "Alphabet" Rothlesberger (rhythm guitar). "There are so many groups that make a great first impression and the rest of the material is weak. So we are constantly working on new material, with a new sound and a strong concept, making sure that each song doesn't sound like another version of any other songs that we've ever created. That's why our albums flow so well."
The band has written enough songs for the next two albums with their sounds consistently getting fresher.
